Tejay’s 4WD is in the final stages for developing”Plug ’n’ Play” low voltage off grid solar / batteries system kits with everything you need.
All the calculations done and matched for:
Solar
Regulator
Batteries
Inverter
Instructions with pictures
USB with manufacturers installation videos
You have the option to install it yourself or Tejay’s 4WD can install it for you.
These kits have been developed and are ready to be built. We are keen to start installing them in the local area. This would be a great opportunity to fine tune the systems and instructions. If you are interested in one these systems, please drop us an email.
We have 3 x 48v systems in the final stages, with the abillity to add a 48v-12v converter to run 12v items. We will also be adding 12v systems in the near future. These can also be scaled up or down to suit your specific requirements or we can build one to your specific needs.
The information below is a preliminary concept of what it will be. As we finalise the designs, the information will be updated and a downloadable PDF of the specifications and options will be made available along with pricing.
Off Grid Solar - Launching Soon!
12v Systems.

The Weekender
The “ Weekender” is our entry level system. For those who only want enough power to run a few lights, a 12v Fridge up to 60L and charge a phone or other low voltage devices. With 340w Solar Capacity ( 2 x 170w panels ) and 200Ahr Deep cycle battery capacity it’s ideal for those who have a hut up in the bush somewhere as a weekend getaway.
-
The Weekender +
The “ Weekender Plus “ is for those wanting a little more. This system comes with a 500w Inverter on top of the Weekender system with the ability to add more solar or battery capacity in the future. For those who plan to use the weekender a bit more than just a weekender in the future, this is the one for you!

The Weekender Ultimate
The “ Weekender Ultimate “ provides more creature comforts with the weekender. 660w Solar Capacity and 400AHr Deep Cycle Battery Capacity, makes it quite capable of running multiple lights, 80L fridge, charge you mobile devices, laptop and with a 2000w inverter which is big enough to run a microwave….. well not for very long anyway!

Living Off Grid 3KW System - from $16,000
The “ Living Off Grid 3KW “ System is for full-time off grid living in a Larger Hut or Small House. The equipment used in these 48V systems are the next step up in quality and designed to run 24/7. With 26400w Solar Panel Capacity, 200Ahr at 48V and 3KW Inverter Charger, it’s a great system for couples or small families without large power needs. This system will happily run a full size 240v fridge, along with lighting and so on. Using an Inverter Charger means that you can easily hook up a generator to charge your batteries on high demand or ongoing inclement weather, as well as automatically switch over the load to the generator.

Living Off Grid - 5KW System - from $25,000
The “ Living Off Grid 5KW “ is a similar system as the “ Living Off Grid 3KW“ System with increased capacity. With 3300W of solar capacity, 440AHr of battery capacity and 5KW Inverter charger allows either longer running in inclement weather, larger family, or greater power needs before having to use your generator.
Living Off Grid 8KW Systems - from $32,000
The 8KW system is similar to the ones above but due to the larger size of the solar array 2 solar regulators are used, along with 6600w solar, 660AHr Battery and a wopping 8KW Inverter Charger.
To make an ultimate system for your needs we can also do a mix of both.
Why 12V and 48V? Well there is so much out there that runs at 12V like lighting, camp fridges and so on.
Why 48V? When running larger capacity inverters they are all 48V or higher. This is to over come voltage drop.
What is Voltage drop? Do you know about Ohm’s Law? If you do, great! To keep it basic so you can comprehend, the higher the voltage of the base system the more efficient it is. 48V inverters in general are more efficient and designed to run 24
Firstly we use a 48v to 12v down converter. The advantage of this is cost as we only have to add the converter. The disadvantage is you are then limited by the size of that converter.
Secondly we add a 12v system to the 48v one. The advantage of this is that even though it is physically built as one, electrically it is separate. This means if one fails the other keeps working. This gives better redundancy during failure, heavy loads on one system of long periods of inclement weather. The disadvantage of this is the cost.
All of these above systems can be purchased as is.
If you are wanting something customised to your requirements, we can always scale up a smaller system, scale down a larger system, or mix and match to your specific needs.
We use Victron equipment in the 48v systems. They come with 5 years warranty, have good reliability and great functionality. Included in these systems is a monitoring device with a 5inch touch screen display and access to Victron’s VRM ( Victron Remote Monitoring ). This gives you access to 6 months of detailed data and long term data. Monitoring of the system can be done by you or we can monitor it for you. This monitoring allow us to make adjustments thus optimising the system, diagnose a fault or even prevent a failure. You can also enable the setting up of email alerts, audible alerts, automatic starting and stopping generators. With all these capabilities, it makes it worth while the extra cost of one of these in the system. The Victron inverter chargers we use can hook up multiple inverter chargers to give greater output power or can be run as a 3 phase system!
PLUG n PLAY Accessories
We are also looking at adding accessories such as lights, USB and other charge points, pre wired so that all you need to do is select what you want. This includes the number of lights, how far from the switch to power outlet of your system. Then it is necessary to cut the holes, run the cables and plug them in.
These are the down-lights I have been using and will have kits available soon from 1 - 4 lights with the estimated cost of $140 - $315 for these kits.
The kits will be designed to plug straight into our PLUG n PLAY solar system but could easily be adapted to your current system.
