Mobile Solar
Here are photos of what I have done to my own vehicle. It is based on a 1985 Land Rover V8 County. This vehicle came out of the factory in England with the Rover V8 in it. I do have 3 x engineers reports for the vehicle because of the modifications done to it. It is a project in motion. While doing all the work the vehicle has been kept on the road at the same times as completing jobs for the business. It is an ongoing project which may never be finished as new ideas and better ways of doing things keep occurring. No matter what vehicle you own, I am sure you can appreciate the work that I have done and the care I will take with you vehicle.
170w Solar panel on the roof of the cab. I can take the box body off the back and put the tray on it when needed, but I don't loose the ability to charge the 2nd battery and can still run a fridge etc.
Needing more solar while camping, I have only recently added this 185w thin solar panel to the RHS door of the box body it is only 2mm thick and it was attached using roof and gutter silicon and glued it in place.
The next job is to fit 2 of these 10w panels on the roof of the cab to trickle charge the starting battery. The starting battery on my truck only runs the engine, the head lights and the driving lights on the bull bar. Everything else runs off the 2nd.
20a DC-DC Charger, Low voltage disconnect, charge points, light switches and a couple of ammeters just to keep an eye on things.
2000w Pure sine wave inverter which is good enough to run a drill or angle grinder.
I had this bar fridge that was not doing anything, so I put it in and it runs off the inverter. Not the most efficient way of keeping things cool but will do until the next upgrade!
It is always hard to keep a battery box, as busy as this one neat and tidy. Check out the Fullriver Battery, HC100. N70 size AGM battery, 105AHr and 965CCA! Runs my Thomas 12v Winch very well.
This end of the battery box is a little more challenging. Notice the little black box cable tied to the wires? It is a wires voltage sensor for a hummingbird volt meter.
Here is the Hummingbird Volt meter paired up to 3 sensors. My truck itself has 2 batteries but there are also 3 x 100AHr AGM deep cycle batteries in the box body. I also run 2 x 85a alternators to keep up with it.
Avionics Electrical Work

The Avionics rack, which includes the radios. Yes that is a GME UHF CB in the bottom of the rack, and yes it is integrated into the plane's audio system!

Anyone who has ever attempted to wire up anything will appreciated the time taken and the patience required to complete a job like this.

The rear cock pit with an added audio panel and Simoco control head. These Simoco radios can have 2 radios with 1 control head, saving critical space. They also have 2 control head so the co-pilot can select channels etc. The 2nd Audio panel allows the co-pilot to select any of the plane's radios independently of the pilot. The first time it has been done that we know of! It even has a Bury Bluetooth phone kit integrated into the audio system.

This is the biggest box we could find to fit this space. These radio boxes are designed to be easily removed from the plane when radios need changing, when different channels are needed or for repairs when something ultimately fails.

Self contained: All the radio circuit breakers easily accessible by the Co-Pilot, Power and Double USB Sockets as they also use tablets for navigation and anything else to be able to charge them up. PTT button and headphone jacks.

All the connections on one end for easy accessibility to be able to remove the radio box in a timely and easy manner when needed. There is nothing worse than something failing during an emergency and have something hard to fix.
